Congratulations Councilman Moss

I'd like to extend my congratulations to newly-elected City Councilman John Moss as well as Prescott Sherrod for a spirited, issues-oriented campaign that centered on you, the Citizens of Virginia Beach.

I would also like to thank my wife, Cindy for her unwavering support and I'd like to thank all of my supporters and campaign volunteers for standing with me over the long weeks of this campaign. Running for office is no easy task and without the help of these good people, none of what we accomplished would have been possible. My sincere thanks to you all for your help.

For me, I will continue to serve as the Undersheriff of Virginia Beach, always looking for new, innovative ways to deliver the essential services we provide in a more efficient, cost-effective way that doesn't place a heavy burden on the taxpayers.

What This Special Election is All About

The recent departure of Councilwoman Rita Sweet Bellitto created an open seat on Virginia Beach City Council.

While there was some controversy regarding the temporary appointment of an interim Councilman, the process went forward and we congratulate Prescott Sherrod.

This special election will allow the voters of Virginia Beach the opportunity to determine who will permanently fill this At-Large Council seat.

It is for this reason we urge every eligible voter to come out on November 8th and cast your ballot in what could become a very important election to the future of our city.

Virginia Beach residents deserve a voice on City Council that believes fiscal responsibility and the rule of law go hand-in-hand. Just as Dennis Free has distinguished himself as a law enforcement official, he will continue to serve and provide distinguished leadership to the Citizens of Virginia Beach as your next City Councilman.
